                      CERVICAL CANCER
Cervical cancer is a major and most frequently occuring cancer in female. It occurs when abnormal cervical cells grows out of control.Cervical cancer can be treated when noticed early through pap test.
             

       CAUSES OF CERVICAL CANCER
Most cervical cancer is caused by human papilloma virus which a sexually transmitted virus. Note: that not all HPV causes cancer;some
cause warts so therfore it's adviced women sould regularly do pap test.
                RISK FACTORS

  • Having too many sex partner
  • Excessive smoking
  • Poor hygiene
  • Excessive exposure to radiation
  • Practicing unsafe sex
             
       

         SIGNS/SYMPTOMS


  • Abnormal cervical discharges
  • Pain during sex
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Pelvic pain
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding;like after sex,between menstrual period or after menopause.
                   DIAGNOSIS 
Pap test;the  doctor collects a cell sample from the surface of the cervix to confirm cell changes and cancerous cells.
pelvic examination can be done by biopsy.
                    PREVENTION

  • Practicing safe sex or abstenance
  • Use of HPV(human papilloma virus) vaccine(including the male partener)
  • Limit the number of sex partners
  • Pap testing can also help detect cell changes early for treatment.
                       TREATMENT

  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Surgery such as hysterectomy.
